MacRumors is reporting on a find by Applesfera who have discovered support files in the latest build (Build 10C531), that reference unreleased MacBook Pros. These reference files are entitled “MacBookPro6_1” and “MacBookPro6_2”, this is compared to the currently shipping MacBook Pros which sport a 5,x model number.
There are no currently circulating rumors suggesting a imminent MacBook Pro update, but there have been rumblings suggesting the when the Pros are updated a model could have Intel’s new Nahalem (Corei7) processor.
It’s a safe bet though, that the next MacBook Pros will have similar processors as the recently refreshed iMacs. Why you ask? They both have a similar thermal envelope, that’s why.
