This is a bumper week for bizarro iPhone apps “ I ‘m not looking for them any more than usual, but they are just jumping out at me all over the place lately. So much so that I decided to cover three recent eye-catchers at once here “ and believe it or not that ‘s after narrowing it down a bit.
The first truly bizarre offering that grabbed my attention is FHM Hoops. As always, the description is priceless and in this case also incredibly short:
Great and sexy woman + shooting hoops.
OK, because we all know those two things go together like huh? I probably don ‘t keep up well enough with the latest bizarre fetishes, but I just can ‘t recall ever having a ‘damn I ‘d love to see her shooting 3-pointers ‘ moment myself.
Another “ cough “ interesting app that I spotted this week is called Dick WGR. WGR is short for Word Game Ref, but you knew that I bet. If so, it may come as no surprise to hear that the main character is called Dick Shunary.
The screencap above pretty much shows the extent of Dick ‘s ‘features ‘. Looks like a great app to use when playing word games with friends. I ‘m guessing they might give you and Dick a different last name if you hold up a screen with him on it and try to deny their latest word entry.
Here ‘s my favorite bizarro app of the week (so far) though, and as usual it is the description that puts it over the top for me. How can you argue with an app description that starts with
How good are you at identifying animal butts?
With all these thousands of look-alike, do-alike apps in the store, there just aren ‘t enough that hit you with that kind of question right up front. And then deliver an app that appears to really put your animal-butt-identifying skills to the test.
