Thanks for the update Antonio – that's good news.

I'll wait for the next version as well.

And I am uninstalling GriP one day later. Every time I get multiple alerts, it crashes the springboard. For instance, if the phone is in my pocket, and a push alert comes through which is set to be persistent and stay on screen, and I don't respond to it before getting another alert, when that second one comes in, it shows up for a second before crashing the springboard. Happens every. single. time. Too troublesome for me. Removing it and going back to elert for email notifications, and regular popups for push notifications. Grip seems like a nice concept, but too unstable for me.

You can choose for GriP not to pop in the apps you want

@Patrick, GriP is to be replaced by iNotifyEx. The dev is back to actively develop it!!

Does GriP have the same issue?

spent the evening looking this app up….there's a great piece here: http://mobilegeekdom.blogspot.com/2009/10/one-ste

but unfortunately that cool double header theme he talks about doesn't really work. Just tried it … and it crashes springboard when you receive multiple notifications. However, there is hope. Grip's development days may be numbered, but there's someone else starting another notification project called iNotifyEx which basically continues the saga.

We'll see 😛

also…ditto on the "what them are you using, Diego?" sentiment.

Great find! I've disabled elert while I'm trying out GriP. So far it seems pretty nice.

I like how I can receive push alerts from apps without them blocking my interaction with whatever I'm currently doing. I can set some alerts to be persistent so they just sit there at the bottom of my screen to be delt with once I'm done with whatever I'm doing.

Other alerts, like new message alerts, will fade away after 5 seconds, much like my Outlook alerts on my Windows computer. They're more informational, but only serve a purpose if I'm actually looking at them when they appear. If I don't act immediately on an email alert, I don't need them to stay up on the screen.

It'll be interesting to see how this app gets expanded on. I noticed there's a spot for themes, but only one installed. Are there additional themes to download? GriP provides app hooks, are there other apps that take advantage of GriP's alerts?
