unless you're talking about pirate-specific apps like "avast ye" and "get ready to walk the pogo plank"…then yes, I might have taken a peek at them or made them up just now.

Hacktivation has absolutely nothing to do with using pirated software. Not even remotely close. Thank you for your very insightful reply, though. In case you are interested in actually understanding what you're talking about:

Jailbreak = The process of opening the iPhone OS to allow running unsigned code and opening the filesystem for full access. There are hundreds, if not thousands, of uses for this other than pirating software.

Unlock = The process of unlocking the carrier which your phone is tied to. This allows, for instance, the use of the iPhone on T-Mobile in the US. This is one of the things that's possible once your phone is jailbroken and again, has absolutely nothing to do with pirated software.

Hacktivation = The process of activating a recently restored phone in an unofficial manner (i.e. not through iTunes). This is necessary if you want to use your phone on an unofficial carrier and you don't have access to a SIM for the official carrier. This is known to cause push notifications to not work properly and doesn't have the slightest bit to do with using pirated software.

Although there are an incredibly large number of people, like you, who are grossly misinformed and think every single person that jailbreaks their phone uses pirated software, that is not the case. I guarantee Patrick, Thomas, and the other bloggers on this site pay for every app they use. I personally have never once used a pirated app on my phone but have been jailbroken for years. In fact, I have paid for a large number of apps that can only be used on a jailbroken device. I urge you to look more closely into things before acting like you know what you're talking about.

I'm actually very impressed with Beejive, and always have been. IMO, the best iphone chat app by far!

Just because someone hacktivates doesn't mean they also steal apps – he could still have purchased it from the app store.

Obviously he’s not “Hacktivated” because he just said he spent 10 dollars.

Push notifications have always worked great for me in Beejive. Are you hacktivated?

Since that is what i actually paid $10 for…
