Wallace & Gromit: Digital Comic Number 4, Where There's Much There's Brass

My daughter and I are both fans of the Wallace and Gromit animated films, and we were excited to spot some new Wallace and Gromit comics in the App Store recently. There are four new Wallace and Gromit comic apps that have been released this month “ and we recently had a look at Wallace and Gromit: Digital Comic #4, Where There ‘s Muck There ‘s Brass.

The storyline for this one centers around a local brass band that is going to be disbanded, and Wallace deciding that that ‘s just not acceptable and taking it upon himself to replace them and keep the music going in his town.  His solution involves a ‘massive, madcap and potentially dangerous ‘ invention.

Gromit of course has grave doubts about the idea right from the start

I won ‘t do any spoiling of how it all plays out, but it ‘s good story and one that kept my daughter interested through its full 55 screens in one sitting.  Along with strong content, the illustrations in the app are very good and entertaining.

Our only disappointment with the app was that there is no audio and no animation within it.  It would have added a lot if there were voices for the characters or bits of animation on the pages as I ‘ve seen done in many story apps for children.  Given the origins of Wallace and Gromit, it seems like these elements are something the developers should consider adding to future editions.

Having said that, overall we still enjoyed the story quite a bit, and we ‘ll certainly be getting more of the series.

You can find Wallace and Gromit: Digital Comic #4, Where There ‘s Muck There ‘s Brass in the App Store now, priced at $0.99 “ as well as three other comics in the series priced the same.  To see all four, go HERE.
