Shazam has linked with with (RED), joining several iconic brands including American Express, Apple, Bugaboo, Converse, Dell, Emporio Armani, Gap, Hallmark and Starbucks, to launch the first iPhone App to help fight the spread of AIDS in Africa.

With the same fantastic features as the recently launched Shazam Encore, (Shazam)RED Special Edition lets you show off your support of (RED) with every song you tag, along with displaying updated content about the impact of (RED). (Shazam)RED can be identified on the App Store by its unique and specially designed red-colored product icon.

(Shazam)RED is not a free upgrade, and is offered at the same $4.99 cost as Shazam Encore. However, for each application purchased, 20% of the price is contributed to the Global Fund to fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria. (RED) funds are directed to HIV and AIDS programs in Africa.

Even if you’ve already purchased Shazam Encore, or you are still using the previous free version of Shazam, now is a great time to step up to (Shazam)RED, gaining several new app features while also making a difference in the world.

You can find (Shazam)RED in the iPhone App Store here.

For more information about the (RED) compaign and what it’s all about, check out their website here, or the Wikipedia article here.
