
Calculators are the sentries that ward off calculations. Something about having one nearby seems to rid me of the need to compute calculations, but the moment I take it off of my first home screen (“well, won’t need this old thing…”) it’s as if all the stupid numbers decide to come back into my life, and I’m suddenly woefully unprepared to crunch them.
I know, I know…I’ve sung this song before. I spent quite a while debating whether to choose Convertbot or Convert for my conversion and calculation needs, and for now I’m back with Convert because its calculator interface is so much easier to use. It’s also easier to access, once you take a little time to set it up.
I’ve made it the only “favourite” in the app, so that when I press the blue star button in the bottom-left corner, the app will switch immediately to calc mode. I used to have around four or five favourites set up within Convert, but in reality, I do more quick calculations than quick conversions, and immediate access to the calculator is much more useful to me.
