Last month I posted about an Arsenal FC app for the iPhone “ that was the first official, club-backed app for a major European football club that I ‘d seen. I ‘ve recently spotted another one, and this one covers one of the most legendary and the most successful football club in the world “ Real Madrid.
MyMadrid is published by Real Madrid C.F. themselves “ and as you might expect from a club with such rich history, it packs a lot of good content.

And here ‘s a quick look at some of these and some other notable parts of the app:
From the main screen you ‘ve got access to a typical range of sections within the app “ News, Live, 3D Goals, and Mas (more) are the titles for these
The News section offers some quite brief written articles on topical stories, match reports and similar
And also provides a photo gallery and stories and highlights via clips from Real Madrid TV and YouTube
The 3D Goals area offers a wide selection of recent goals scored by Real Madrid and others in the familiar, hyper-realistic 3D view. I honestly still find these pretty boring to watch. Luckily there ‘s plenty of real video throughout the app “ and of course it features some of the greatest stars who have ever graced a football field
All the way back to the great Di Stefano
The Mas (more) section is full of history “ and in this case of course an epic one filled with glory in every competition Real Madrid has been in. You can browse through the club ‘s history by decade, learn more about the stadiums they ‘ve played in, or just take in all the many, many honours the club has won over the years.
I ‘m glad to see another of these official apps for another leading European club, and one of the world ‘s most illustrious sports organizations. I hope more major clubs will follow this trend soon.
If you ‘re a Real Madrid fan, this is probably a zero-hesitation purchase “ but it ‘s a very worthy app even if you are just a fan of club football or European football generally, just for the way it showcases this amazing team.
