I recently did my first jailbreak and been struggling to find decent resources to help me maximize theming potential. A lot of badly written convoluted attempts but nothing as simple to follow as this. Don’t know how i haven’t come across it before; I’ve been searching enough!! Much appreciated.

The easiest way to change the icons.
Open i-funbox, wait for it to connect to iPhone/iPod, click on System Applications on the left, double click on the app you wish to modify (eg, appstore) then find the icon.png file and drag and drop your own png icon. It will automatically replace the standard icon.
I believe the the filenames should match, either icon.png or Icon.png.

I tried to make some own icons..
But I have 1 problem..
There’s a link to the Google Calendar Site on my phone. But I can’t find it’s picture to edit/rename it to make it fit my own theme..

Does anyone know where to find the web shortcut icons??

Just SFTP to your phone and change icon.png under /Applications/Appname.app. However not all apps are listed there, hence this solution is still valid.

My pleasure. I know that for ME it works about 99.999% of the time. I say that because I have ONE freaking icon that I can't figure out LOL … it's the iTsy Bitsy spider game (for my son) and no amount of icon/name manipulation will come up with the correct name.

Hell, I was even able to change the I ♥ the 80s icon (it needs the actual "♥" in order to update the icon name) but not the itsy bitsy spider app lol.

You will get a message that says "are you sure you want to delete _____" THAT will be the name of the app that the icon uses (99.999% of the time)

I hope this helps

I've tried looking that up myself but still haven't found an answer. What I do is try renaming the files myself, but I also try to look up what other skins might have called it.

Like Flixter is called movies….. So your .png file has to be called movies.png not flixter.png. There are many apps like this.
