Apple Desktops and Notebooks Top U.S. Sales Lists

For desktops, Apple’s new 21.5″ iMac was first on the list, and 27″ was third. As for notebooks, the 13-inch MacBook Pro came in first, and the rest of the MacBook lines placed in the top ten.

As you may remember, just a short while ago, NPD released some numbers claiming Apple had raked in nearly half of the U.S. desktop retail revenue for October. The reason being the recent refresh of Apple desktops and the slumping sales of Windows PCs prior to the launch of Windows 7.

“Apple gets a bounce whenever they come out with new computers,” Baker said. “For the most part, October was a down month on the Windows side because [PC manufacturers] were working through inventory before the Windows 7 launch.”

It is worth noting that these numbers only cover online and retail sales, and does not include sales through third party sellers, or any other means. This of course doesn’t give us all of the numbers, but it certainly gives us enough to suggest Apple is on the rise.
