10 Free Licenses for CopyTrans 4 (PC only) To Be Won

It’s easy enough to put music on an iPhone — iTunes takes care of that. CopyTrans 4 comes at the iPhone (or iPod) from the other direction and allows you to take all of your music and media off of the device to create a new iTunes library, or just stick the music into nicely organized folders. This is great for transferring your library to another household computer or for those situations where your iPhone outlives your computer hard drive (you know, the one with all of your music).
I haven’t needed to use any backup software in a while, but CopyTrans seemed pretty decent in my quick peek at the software. You’ve got to download a Control Panel that acts as a launcher for CopyTrans 4. The Control Panel also acts as the installer for other CopyTrans products, but you won’t have to download or install anything else that you don’t want to. CopyTrans was able to transfer 200MB of music from my iPhone 3GS to a folder on my desktop in about 20 seconds. The speed will vary depending on your computer and the mobile device, but I was pleasantly surprised by the speed.
