C’mon, I’m not the only on here who thinks that, right? The Simplex is made of duraluminum and accepts different lenses, but it still looks like it’s only worth about $30.00 because of the really bright product shots. It’s probably decent up close, but the attached lens really kills the charm of the metal. It’s like adding a big, honking clown nose to Robocop.
Here’s the really shocking part, though: despite having already paid $200 for the Simplex, you’ve still got to buy the interchangeable lenses — which cost up to $40 each — separately. With all of that money spent and all of the trouble you’ll have to take screwing and unscrewing the case to take the iPhone out (yep, you read that right), I can’t help but think you’d be better off just buying a point-and-shoot camera. If you’re paying as much money for the iPhone case as you did for the iPhone, then the case had better be amazing quality (like a Vaja case) or offer some sort of killer feature. The setup on the Simplex just looks way too Complex and TooFreakingBigex to be of much use to anyone. Unless somebody wants to buy one and prove us wrong with pictures 😛
