Apple Stores Hyping iPhone Apps As Well

I was in the Barton Creek shopping mall in Austin yesterday, and stopped at the Apple Store for a quick gift purchase.  I got checked out with one of the slick new iPod Touch type point-of-sale devices “ the ones that have replaced the huge, clunky Windows Mobile PDAs that had been in use for some years.

Also noticed on the way out, waiting round to meet up with my wife, that the store ‘s display windows were leading on iPhone apps.  Using the headline ‘85,000 Gifts in One Box ‘ and showing the window design seen above, with the giant iPhone screen showing rotating apps, and surrounded by iPhone app gift boxes.

Hopefully that ‘s my one and only mall visit for the 2009 holiday season, ticked off. đŸ™‚
