Well “ it ‘s less than two weeks until Christmas, so I figure this is as good a time as any to share a few Christmas-spirited iPhone apps. I ‘m sure there are also plenty of apps out there that help celebrate other important holidays coming up during the season “ I ‘m just sharing Christmas apps because that ‘s what my family celebrates, and I ‘ve got a little one (6 year old daughter) in the house, and we ‘re all pretty excited about it, after getting our lights and decorations setup over the last couple of weekends.
This is not intended as anything even approaching a comprehensive guide to iPhone Christmas apps. There are just far too many out there to want to take that on. Rather, it ‘s just a short listing of some Xmas-related apps and things that have caught my eye over the last few weeks.
So here we go “ some iPhone apps that I hope may add some fun to your iPhones during the Christmas season, in no particular order:

There are around a dozen apps offering books / audio books renderings of this famous Christmas poem.
XMAS Excuse Genie

Christmas Wallpaper Packs
There are several wallpaper packs available in the App Store, and also in the jailbreak Cydia store, including some from the BigBoss and ZodTTD and MacCiti sources. My favorite I ‘ve seen so far though is a free .zip download from everythingiCafe forum member Picazzo that includes some lovely walls and seasonal ringtones.
If you ‘re jailbroken and SSH / file transfer savvy, you can copy the files to the right places. If you ‘re not jailbroken, or just can ‘t be bothered with all that, you can just save the images to your iPhone ‘s photo library via your favorite method and make them a wallpaper from there.
Picazzo ‘s pack can be downloaded free via the thread over at EIC. That ‘s where I got the Blue Tree image used in the screencap here and at the top of this post in use on my home screen.
SplashShopper

There are several of these apps around as well, but this is the one I happened to pick up for my daughter. It shows where Santa is right now on a globe image, counts down the days / hours / minutes until he is due to arrive, and let ‘s parents add names to the Naughty and Nice lists within the Settings app.
Trio of Grinch Apps from Oceanhouse Media
iTunes Link (to the Oceanhouse Media apps page)
Prices:
How The Grinch Stole Christmas audio book: $3.99
Dr. Seuss Camera “ The Grinch Edition – $2.99
Grinchmas game -$0.99
Description
My favorites so far. A good rendition of the famous Dr. Seuss book, with nice illustrations and a voiceover done with gusto. Another ‘put yourself in the frame ‘ image app, with some funny Grinchy, evil poses served up. And a fun Grinchmas game “ where you get to hurl snowballs down on lots of houses in Whoville.
That ‘s it for my findings so far. I know there are lots of others out there though, and I ‘m sure there are plenty of good ones I ‘ve not spotted yet. If you ‘ve got some that fit the bill, please share in the comments.
