Apple Changes the Look of the App Store

Apple has quietly changed the look of individual app pages in App Store section of the iTunes Store. Now each app page, follows the same layout as the rest of the pages on the iTunes Store in iTunes 9. It can only be assumed these changes are aimed to help drive app sales for developers.

Here’s what an old style app page looked like (not the whole page mind you):

Here is what the new pages look like (again, not the whole page):

Notice some of the key differences such as a larger icon, screenshots are more prominently displayed, and the ratings and the app’s developer’s other offerings. In short, it looks like Apple is trying to connect developers and consumers more directly than before.
