This is seriously Unreal. The engine that powers insanely good-looking games, like Unreal Tournament 3, is actually running on a 3rd-gen iPod Touch. It isn’t a game demo — just a tech demonstration — but it’s still insanely impressive. The screenshot above is what iPhone games could look like if they ran the Unreal Engine, and they don’t even need to be first person shooters. You could even make games likeCooking Mama look strangely gory and detailed if it used the Unreal engine — now you wouldn’t actually want a gory Zombie Cooking Mama (or do you?), but I just wanted to point out that it’s possible.
I found the video over on Anandtech and there’s even a brief YouTube clip to show what the thing looks like in action.
