I think jailbroken apps should have a battery rating, like 1 for some-what consumption, 5 for a lot and 0 for no extra battery consumption. it was hard to single out which app took out most of my juice so i just ran my iphone stock, with push off has around twice as much battery at the end of the day compared to my old jailbroken phone with almost all cydia apps installed. just my two cents.

In reply to Ryan Hill. I didn't track memory usage during that day - but I did look at that quite a bit before doing my first post on ProSwitcher. I did actually take one call during our trip home, but it was a quick one, so I didn't even think to mention it.

Did you happen to keep an eye on the RAM along with the battery usage? It was also interesting to note that your you did almost everything on your phone but…. talk 🙂 Not that I'm much different…

Thanks. I'm going to try to keep testing it out as best I can – but so far I am impressed with how little impact 'snesible' backgrounding seems to cause. 🙂

good breakdown. now that i'm jailbroken and traveling, i've been keeping an eye on my battery life. while not as thorough as you are in your study of the topic, i can say i'm fairly happy with the longevity of my 3GS. Like you, running PogoPlank and background apps is the main reason I'm jailbroken.
