And if I unplug the earphones and use the speaker I end up covering it with my right hand. Lose lose situation!

I've been using the iLuv i202 Bluetooth earclips for well over a year now. It's nice to not be tethered down and I can take phone calls too. The only disadvantage is that the next track/previous track buttons on the actual headphones have no function, but the play/pause and answer call buttons work just fine.

Just turn the device the other way up and it adjusts itself accordingly. I really don’t know why all landscape games don’t work this way.

I agree completely, your addition to calibrate the sensitivity would be another great addition.

not totally sure I understand if you agreed or disagreed on whether it "should" be easy enough to implement a 180 degree rotation.

I'm not a developer myself, just a whiny guy who would very much like for the multitude of awesome iPhone games out there to conform to some sort of standard. One such standard would be the "calibrate" function in many modern accelerometer-based games — some of the earliest iPhone games were sorely lacking in this category and it was a lot harder to play when there was only the default sensitivity setting. I definitely understand how portrait -> landscape is challenging, and I don't think games need that either. LIterally flipping the screen over, though, seems like it should be much simpler. And even if it isn't simple — I still think it's worth taking the time to do for gamers.

It’s hard to implement a rotation from portrait to landscape (or the other way round), but this is just too damn easy.
