The GigaOM site has a great post up today on the iPhone App Store economy. It highlights quite a few huge, crazy App Store numbers. Like $500 million * per month * in revenues. With this split between Apple and developers:

The average monthly spend on iPhone apps “ amongst 56 million users! “ is $10. That ‘s higher than I would have guessed.
I ‘ve mentioned before that I feel slightly numbed to seeing the latest counts for the number of apps now in the store “ but I have to say numbers like these still make my jaw drop.
