In news vaguely relating to Apple, AT&T has introduced new unlimited plans after Verizon dropped the prices of their unlimited plans. These new plans affect the iPhone of course, and take effect on today. The unlimited plans are now $99.99 (excluding a texting package, which costs extra), which is a $30 savings from the previous unlimited plan for iPhone.
All smartphone customers, including iPhone customers, may now buy unlimited voice and data for $99.99. For smartphone customers with Family Talk plans (prices assume 2 smartphones), unlimited voice and data is now available for $179.99. Texting plans remain unchanged at $20 for unlimited plans for individuals, $30 for Family Talk Plans.
Customers already signed up for the unlimited plan will be able to change to the new plans as of today via AT&T’s website. There will be no penalty or contract extensions for changing. We still don’t know if AT&T will change their other non-unlimited plans to coincide with these unlimited plan changes.
