ProTapper isn’t hard to describe, but it’s hard to write a headline about. That’s because its usefulness isn’t exactly immediately evident. All that this free jailbreak hack does is display a white circle under your finger every time you tap on the screen. It doesn’t seem to register multi-touch right now, but it just might in a future version. If you’ve been making screen captured videos of your iPhone (I still don’t know how to do this), then ProTapper could be very useful for showing what part of the screen you’ve just hit.
I suppose it could also be useful in helping you with tricky UI elements in certain apps: toggling full-screen mode in Notebooks, for example, requires a very precise tap on a certain part of the in-app status bar, and Pro Tapper could really help track down which part of the screen you need to hit.
Now I know you’re thinking that the white circle doesn’t count as blushing, but that’s where the replaceable .png file comes in. You can replace the white circle with another spectacular image of your choosing. Simply go to /Library/ProTapper/ and replace dot.png with your own file. You can find Pro Tapper in Cydia right now for free.
