Apple Releases iTunes 9.2

Apple has released iTunes 9.2, in preparation for the release for iPhone 4. This update introduces a slew of enhancements, such as support of iOS devices, faster backup for said devices, and drag-and-drop PDF support for iBooks.

iTunes 9.2 comes with several new features and improvements, including:

– Sync with iPhone 4 to enjoy your favorite music, movies, TV shows, books and more on-the-go

– Sync and read books with iPhone or iPod touch with iOS 4 and iBooks 1.1

– Organize and sync PDF documents as books. Read PDFs with iBooks 1.1 on iPad and any iPhone or iPod touch with iOS 4

– Organize your apps on your iOS 4 home screens into folders using iTunes

– Faster back-ups while syncing an iPhone or iPod touch with iOS 4

– Album artwork improvements make artwork appear more quickly when exploring your library

The update also provides some security updates you can read about here.

A beta of iTunes 9.2 was recently seeded to developers alongside a gold master candidate of iOS to help them prep their apps for the iPhone 4 launch.

Of course, you can manually download the update for your OS, or if you are on the Mac, you can download the update from Software Update in the Apple menu.
