This is turning into a very long day. My section of the iPhone 4 line (non reserved) has moved maybe 200 feet in the five hours since the Apple store opened – and most of us have been here around 8 hours now.
The major reason for the holdup (based on the updates we’ve been given by Apple staff) is the time it’s taking to activate the new iPhones – up to 20 minutes per customer. How on earth Apple and AT&T have managed to still not be prepared for this beyond me.
Luckily, as per usual, the Apple Staff here are great and the company in line is friendly and makes the time pass more quickly and pleasantly.
Thanks especially to Brandon, Richard, Cori, and Nick for the great conversation today.
