Definitely sounds like something is wrong here. It should be pretty much buttery smooth.

If your device is older than two years old it might simply be lag. Or it could be the keyboard you bought. What brand was it?

BUT Overall, I HATE IT. It is SUPER SLOW and seems to be disconnecting every few seconds from the phone. I am NOT walking around with the phone, I sit at a table and try to type, but the keyboard just disconnects and reconnects every 20 seconds and thats really annoying when you are typing fast.

Sometimes the buttons must be pressed for a longer time (aout a second)to get it to enter text.

IS mine faulty or is that the way its supposed to be??

In my case I have significant signal degradation in the pairing with my car. I’m using a 3Gs upgraded to iOS4. Prior to iOS4 I had no issues. So same phone, same car, same mount position in the car but degraded bluetooth signal with iOS4. Everything points to a problem with the Bluetooth stack in iOS 4 on the 3Gs and hopefully this will be addressed with iOS 4 update(upgrade guide in ifunia iphone column).

I just updated my iPod Touch to iOS4 and tried to pair it with my Stowaway Bluetooth keyboard.. even after making the keyboard discoverable (it surely works, I just paired it with my laptop) the iPod doesn't find it. Restarts etc. don't seem to help.. 🙁
Any ideas?

1) answered by Victor – thanks!

2) you likely have to re-pair (not repair) the Apple BT keyboard with your iPhone. I think it's still paired with the iPad. I know it definitely works, though, so it should just be a matter of perseverance.

I like this combo, but too bad the keyboard does not reconnect automatically when unfolded.

Thanks for the info and the video. Can I ask a question or two?

1. I got the Stowaway for my old Sprint Mogul thinking I would just wait for drivers (haha!). Anyway, I lost the manual or the sheet of paper or whatever. How do I turn the KB on? How do I make it discoverable? I kind of remember it was a key sequence or combination.

2. Also, I can't even pair the official Apple keyboard with the iPhone. It works fine with my iPad. But with the iPad off, I hit Bluetooth On on iPhone and nothing shows up even after I hit the KB ON button and tap at keys. I'm getting a steady light on KB too, and not the blinking one. I'm doing something stupid but what is it?

Thanks much. I was googling for these answers when I cam across your post.

Doug
