ZDNet has posted some comparisons between the upload speeds between iPhone 3G and iPhone 4. The iPhone 4 is significantly faster at uploading over a 3G network than iPhone 3G.
I started noticing this on Thursday after I picked up the iPhone 4. The first bandwidth speed tests that I ran showed that I was getting much higher bandwidth numbers that I was used to seeing on AT&T. I was getting over 2 Mbps on downloads and over 700K on uploads.
This is promising, and absolutely necessary if one is going to shoot, edit and upload HD video on their phone. Faster upload speeds being a necessity for HD video uploads, considering the HD files are larger than standard video files.
Remember, your milage may vary. God knows AT&T’s network is really shoddy in some places. So the only thing left is for you to tell us your upload experiences on Apple’s hot new device. Leave a comment!
