Well, make that “relatively new”. Goya ($2.99) was apparently released back in May, but I haven’t heard anything about it, and only took a look because I found the icon so darn pretty. Goya’s is a points-infused approach to task management, the idea being that completing tasks can be more rewarding if you’re getting more concrete in return (aside from seeing ticked checkboxes, that is). It sounds a bit like Xbox Live or Steam achievements, to me.
The funny thing is that it’s up to users to create tasks (of course), create their own rewards (alright), and assign points to each of these categories (hmm). That seems like a fair amount of work, even before the vanilla stuff like due dates, priority, and notes. I also find that it’s usually enough fun for me to simply tick checkboxes off, but depending on how good Goya’s interface is in action, its points system may well work wonders.
If you’d like a better look at the app, check ye out their website here.
