First of all: No, this isn’t a cubist interpretation of Fruit Ninja!
So what’s it about?

Fruit Splash is incredibly simple to pickup. Tilt your iPhone or iPad so two like fruit bump into each other while ensuring the “No Fruit Zone” doesn’t get all blocked up (the center of the playfield where all of the fruit spawns from). Match up multiple fruit in rapid succession and you can rack up some huge temporary point multipliers (well until you finally take too long to keep the combo going).

As simple as the above sounds, trying to get two watermelon pieces to touch when every other type of fruit in the world is laying in between them no matter how you tilt your phone, will drive you mad! Not only does the fruit of some 6+ different varieties keep pouring out at a ever increasing rate from the center hole, some of the fruit is already rotted and can’t be matched with anything.

Furthermore different upgrades may help you in precarious situations and make your personal ˛Fruit Splash ‘ more individual. You have 2 long-term upgrades and 4 upgrades you can use up to 3 times during a play. For example you can freeze all fruits on your playing field or stop spawning for a few seconds.

The graphics of ˛Fruit Splash ‘ are conspicuous colorful, what made me personally buy this game. Different fruits are recognizable at first go and are well distinguishable during the play.

Mentionable is also OpenFeint. It gives a certain inducement, because you always want to better than others and of course you want to get all achievements.

But I also have to remark one little negative aspect. You cannot turn off the sound ingame, but you have to mute your iPhone. I think that this sometimes is quite annoying, but since it is nearly a common thing not to have settings for sounds I won’t critisise this to hard.

Pros:

– Cute Graphics
– Simple but addictive gameplay
– Upgrades that let you keep playing
– Openfeint

Cons:

– No Sound Settings

Conclusion

Altogether I have to say ˛Fruit Splash ‘ is all of its $0.99 worth!
Because of the simple handling, the principle and mainly the graphics, you can ignore that little blemish with sound in my opinion.
I can recommend this game to all, because thrill and fun are assured!

Fruit Splash is available for $0.99 on the App Store.
