I am using names that reflect when I use the app. For something like games I am using "Time Killers" for those games that I usually pull up when i have a few minutes to kill (like Paper Toss) and a generic Games folder for all the others (not quite full yet). Plan to divide it up when it gets full. Maybe add a "shoot em ups" folder or a strategy games folder.

I have also set up a "trash can" folder on the last page. Any app I find I find I am no longer as much as I used to i put in there first. When it fills up I go in and delete a few apps off the device. Even though I have a few folders with only a couple of apps in it I still went from 7 pages of apps to 3.

Of course I don't yet have folders on my iPad, but I have few apps for that so it isn't a concern yet.

My setup is just like Thomas, though I have a few more, like one devoted to a few cooking/recipe apps, remote access and remotes, and navigation among others. I have a bit of OCD so I enjoy organizing everything just so.

I'm glad I can now keep more apps on my phone. Things I wouldn't use very often, but are nice to have. I went from 11 pages (plus overflow) to 4 pages. I am now able to try out four or five RSS readers more easily. Finally, I can keep some of the default Apple apps I don't use out of sight.

I never thought I needed a phone with more than 16 GB of memory, but with folders I actually filled it up. Had to delete some music to cram more apps in.

It used to be a constant dance to remove apps to add new ones, but not any more. I might actually get more use out of some of the apps I have. Oh, and I can finally add often-used web sites to the home screen which is more useful than I had thought.

Your Apps on the left and your device pages on the right. You can sort the Apps in various ways. The important thing is the check box. If checked, the App is on your device. One thing to note is that you can't completely delete an App from here. You need to go to the Apps section in the Library.

If you want to add an App to a page, simply drag and drop it to the page where you want it to go. You can also check the checkbox and the App will be loaded where there's a free slot. If you want to remove an App, simply uncheck the checkbox or locate the App and hover over it. An X apears in the upper left corner. Click the X and it's removed (but not deleted from your App library, so you can always change your mind).

To create a new page, simply drag an App to the gray page at the end of the list.

To create a folder, assuming you're running iOS 4, drag one App on top of another in the right section. This will also give you a chance to rename the folder. The default name is the App category. To open a folder, double click on it. Then you can drag Apps out of the folder.

That's basically it. Hope this helps.

Bob

It is definitely possible. Just sync your iPhone, click on it in iTunes and move to the Apps tab. You should then see your home screen on the right and a list of all your apps on the left. Organizing folders on this screen is as simple as dragging one app onto another, just like you do on the iPhone.

Can anyone help?
