Instead of trying to build a metaplatform on top of Flash, Adobe needs to build their Metaplatfrom on top of HTML, CSS, and Javascript. Righ now they fear being outclassed by developers starting from that same point. I believe Adobe has the skills to do battle with smaller developers in this arena and has the advantage of a committed user base. Plus we would all benefit from the death of IE6.
