I haven't used twitterific since they very first released version 2 – not because it was bad, moreso because Tweetie 2 was incredible.

Looking at this might make me rethink my standpoint on this!

Not at the moment. I actually tried the Mac version and it didn't impress me very much. No built-in profile support, and most everything seems to lead back to the Twitter website. I'd stick with Echofon or Tweetie Mac for now, although I have heard Twitterrific is working on a desktop update (no clue on whether it will sync, though).
