A lot of the things you like about the favored companies, and dislike about the ones lower on your scale are based on rumor, with no fact.

In this article for example, the network. I agree, AT&T has done nothing in the line of customer service, but I base this on AT&T as a whole across all product lines, going at least 10 years prior to the iPHone being a glimmer in Steve Jobs’ eyes.

What is coming out more and more these days is if you have an iPhone and an equivalent smartphone on the AT&T network, strictly speaking on phone calls – the non-iPhone will not drop calls. Its coming to light that it is more likely a hardware issue on the iPhone’s side than a network issue on AT&T’s side.

I’m in Canada and have used iPhones on all 3 of our carriers, and the dropped call issue is native to the iPhone. To the point where if I’m at a work event for several days, and the ability of others to reach me on my cell is mission critical, I will take a blackberry as well as my iphone to ensure I’m available.
