Hipstamatic 160 for iPhone: iOS 4 multitasking and task completion

Everybody knows about how fast app switching works, but it’s a relatively rare group of apps that actually support background completion of tasks. Hipstamatic (review here) makes great use of Task Completion to print pictures in the background (although you’ll still have to “develop” one shot before taking another), and you’ll even find that the badge icon reflects the number of pics that you left to complete in the background. Refreshing that badge icon isn’t as easy to figure out, but you can do so by loading Hipstamatic up and going straight to the camera roll (probably purposefully done so that you can confirm all images were processed correctly).

By the way, has anybody noticed how high Hipstamatic versions are? Most apps are on version 3.xx or 4.xx, but Hipstamatic is already at v160. Where do they find the time? 🙂
