The total number sold for the first month was over 217k. Our total revenue after Apple ‘s cut was just over $253k. Our strongest revenue day occurred about a week after launch with us taking in $15,488 that day and we averaged around $8,440 daily for the first 30 days
Those are some *very* impressive numbers for Camera+, especially when you consider that the iPhone already comes with a decent Camera app. I pulled that quote and pic from the full post on the tap tap tap blog, which is enlightening and chock full of tips for other developers, but also makes a great inside look at all of the work that goes into creating and marketing one of the best apps I’ve played with in a while. Camera+ gets more useful the more time I spend with it, and it’s well worth the $1.99 investment.
That said, it is strange that, despite the numerous App of the Week features this app has received, it isn’t one of the first eight search results in iTunes when you search for “Camera+”. Searching for “tap tap tap” brings the app up faster.
