For all you users that need some reassurance that Apple will never fail you check the article which shows how much of an issue (or lack there of) this actually is at http://getyourgadgetsgoing.com/2010/07/14/apple-i

Also, we went to the apple store and took two iPhone 4s, turned off the wifi and lost Internet connectivity. We asked an Apple employee to explain and she said it is because the Apple store is basically a metal box and reception is terrible. I took my iPhone 3G andwentto a website. The iPhone 4s both sat there for a few minutesand then said "timed out". I had the employee try her iPhone 4. It did the same thing. Forget the death grip, if it can't get a signal laying on a table where my 3G still connects, I may just have to give Android a try.

I am one of those iPhone 4 owners with the problem…actually the first to report it to Apple before the launch and I'd like for them (Apple and Jobs) to not to try and continue to belittle us and insult our intelligence (I am an engineer too). They could come clean and do the right thing and save their reputation…but their pride seems to be more valuable. Sad really.

I haven't had a issue with my iPhone, all works great whether it's because I live in a good area or it was luck who knows. But I went to a car shop today to drop off a car and the owner had his kids inside, the first thing they said to me when they knew I had the new iPhone is, you know Apple is recalling all of the iPhones. Yes, misinformation but everyone knows about the problems, the kids were only around 11 years old.

I think the dropping stock price may be the trigger to get Apple to respond appropriately. 2% doesn't sound like a lot, but when you have over 900M shares outstanding that is a hit of somewhere around $4 Billion (with a B) on their Market Capitalization.

I doubt it would cost them anywhere near $4 Billion to recall and replace every phone already sold. They need to do something more than make fun of their customers for holding the phone wrong.
