Apple has released a Beta of iOS 4.1 and iPhone SDK 4.1 to developers. The predominant feature in this release is the signal strength display fixes Apple had promised in the press release a few weeks back.
It is being reported that the new signal bars appears slightly taller, and of course, utilize a new algorithm to calculate strength more accurately. The release also updates the modem firmware from 01.59.00 to 02.07.01. This is presumably to help improve signal reception.
Other notable changes in the update are the inclusion of Apple’s forthcoming Game Center, gaming social networking app, Facetime Favorites, and other tweaks.
