The Wall Street Journal (WSJ is the news agency that Apple usually picks to purposefully leak information to ahead of an announcement) is reporting that Apple is not planning to recall the iPhone 4 at tomorrow’s scheduled press conference.
Apple’s iPhone 4 has been dogged by reports of antenna-reception problems since its launch last month. The company has called a news conference to discuss the issue Friday. Apple doesn’t plan to recall the phone, a person familar with the matter said.
The report goes on to state that several Apple engineers warned Apple CEO Steve Jobs of potential problems with the design, but Jobs liked the design so much that they proceeded forward with it anyway.
So, Apple is holding a press conference tomorrow regarding the iPhone 4, but will not be issuing a recall for the devices. They have either found a software fix, or plan on issuing bumper cases for iPhone 4 owners, or something even bigger is going to be announced.
