This latest update to Articles ($2.99 – review) adds a feature I was *just* starting to miss: a chapter list for Wikipedia entries (which the devs call a “contents sheet”). Articles already supports a nifty double-tap scrolling mechanism that allows you to jump through the chapters of an entry as if they were all on a scroll bar, but it really wasn’t an adequate replacement for a real chapter list. At the very least, it’s nice to know which point you’d like to jump to, instead of scrolling blindly, chapter by chapter, to see what’s on the page. If I sound like I’m complaining, I’m really not. It’s just that this feature came so unexpectedly and made me realize how much I had missed such a simple thing.
I also like how Sophiestication “hid” the new set of features as one button in the search bar up top — a very nice touch that feels natural and doesn’t clutter up the streamlined UI. I guess they’ve really earned that Apple Design Award.
