As MacRumors points out, Apple CEO Steve Jobs mentioned that Apple was working on a fix for the proximity sensor issues being experienced by some iPhone 4 customers, during Friday’s press conference.
The problem, if you were wondering, is that the proximity sensors on some iPhone 4s do not detect when something is approaching the screen, and thus does not signal to shut off the screen. Without the screen shut off, spurious inputs from the users face may hang up the call, or otherwise tap buttons unintentionally.
There is no word on when to expect the update, but it’s a safe bet if Steve Jobs mentioned it in front of a crowd of reporters, it’s just around the corner.
