As promised in their recent press conference, Apple has launched their iPhone 4 Case Program today. This program, which is implemented largely through a new free app, does the following:
— Offers a free Apple iPhone 4 Bumper or a select third party case
— Provides full refunds to all iPhone 4 owners who have already purchased the Apple iPhone 4 bumper “ via direct credit card credits or a visit to your Apple or AT&T store.
Apple ‘s website for the case program, with full details on how and where to get refunds and all the rest, is here:

The free iPhone app that you need to install in order to get yourself a free Bumper or third party case is called iPhone 4 Case Program, and of course it ‘s a free app. Here ‘s where to get it:
The selection of free 3rd party cases is a good one, with cases from some leading names: Incase, Belkin, Griffin, and Speck. It looks like the Bumpers and all the case options take somewhere between 3-6 weeks to ship.
Naturally, the intention of this program is to help out all those iPhone 4 users who have been affected by the antenna / reception issues with the phone. I have seen the ‘disappearing bars ‘ issue, but have never seen a failed or dropped call because of it. I also have always used a case with all of my iPhones “ so I will not be claiming a free bumper or case,as I really don ‘t feel I need one. I think if you have not experienced the issue, but have concerns that you may in future (perhaps if you know you are moving to an area with much worse signal etc.) then you should probably look to get one within the offer period (which runs to the end of September).
What are you all planning to do on this? Have you already ordered yourself a free bumper or case?
