As you can see from the change notes above, this is a pretty whopping ComicZeal ($3.99 for iPhone, $7.99 for Universal) update, so you can click on the thumbnail for all the gory details.
The biggest change is the addition of Assisted Panning, which should make it a lot easier to read comics with one hand and without the need for manual zooming. Unfortunately, this only seems to work on comics that are paneled in a very rigid 3×3 grid, which is exactly how Assisted Panning works for now. However, I won’t cast any judgement just yet, since this is obviously automatic cropping of comic panels is obviously a pretty tough nut to crack (Comixology uses specialized comic formats that are pre-cropped), and developer bitolithic has stated that this is very much an experimental feature.
Here’s hoping that Assisted Panning gets the love it deserves, because it could become ComicZeal’s killer feature if bitolithic can get it to work more dynamically.
