Quick question guys. In the status bar next to the clock it says 15mb. What app or tweak is making that come up? Randomly that started coming up on my phone and Im trying to get it off but I cant figure out how.

hey so, can you still tether with this without getting AT&T's new $45 data pro plan? I'd like to get the cheapest data plan without tethering (the 200mb limit one)….any thoughts?

I use PDAnet from June fabrics to tether my 3GS to my macbook pro. It works flawlessly as a usb tether and slightly more tricky but still works well as a wireless tether. You can try out the free version which allows you to surf http sites and convince yourself that it works but to be able to visit https sites such as g mail you need to pay for the full version (also 20 dollars I think) Just checked the website (junefabrics dot com) and there is no talk of iOS 4 compatibility or lack of it

Seeing as you have to jailbreak for MyWi, I would just recommend that anyone looking for USB tethering download the fake flashlight HandyLight app that got kicked off of the app store two weeks ago. It’s available on installous and, IMO, as it is no longer available for purchase anywhere, downloading it via installous is not stealing (unless it comes to Cydia in the future).

Can Miwi give your own phone a wifi connection out and about, not just other devices around you? Like a product on the market called MiFi.

When you pay $10, $20 and more per day just to use the WiFi in airport terminals, MyWi is a very inexpensive alternative. I can confirm the thing works flawlessly for my Laptop and iPad that are connected to my iPhone. Thankfully, I have my original AT&T contract for unlimited data so my iPhone data usage is always at the ready.
