Next-Gen iOS Device Rumor Roundup: New iPods, New Smaller iPad Model, and iPhone 5 in 2011?

iLounge has done a bang-up job of putting together a collection of recent rumors they have been hearing regarding upcoming iOS devices.

-iPod: iLounge is reporting that Apple has three new iPod models ready to launch soon, presumably at this years music event, much like Apple has hosted for the last several years. Nothing too groundbreaking here. A new iPod touch, a new nano, but most impressive, a new touchscreen-based iPod shuffle. The new shuffle model may very well be utilizing the small touchscreen we saw surface last month.

-iPad: We’ve heard previous rumors of this nature. Apple may be planning on releasing a smaller iPad model sometime later this year, or early next year. The new sized iPad is being pegged at 5-7 inches.

-iPhone: A hypothetical “iPhone 5” could be ready for sale as soon as early next year, specifically to address antenna issues seen in the iPhone 4. There is no indication as to whether this will be a complete redesign or a minor tweak to alleviate the antenna “issues.”

I personally give the “iPhone 5” thing no credit. Apple has pretty well buried “antennagate” with their free case program, and reports are coming in that the iPhone 4 has fewer dropped calls than the iPhone 3GS.
