AMNH Explorer is one of those iPhone apps that is cool on so many levels. For starters, the idea of acting as a personal tour guide for a visit to a leading museum is a great idea I believe.
It doesn ‘t hurt to be acting as a personal guide to one of the coolest museums in the world either “ and I ‘m happy to say the app ‘s execution is as good as its intentions.

I just love the idea of this app. It ‘s something that all leading museums should consider doing. It should help people get the most out of their visit to the museum “ and could even make the difference between missing out on some great exhibits because it was too difficult to find them and getting to see everything during a visit.
It strikes me as a great app for kids and grown-ups alike. In addition to its great usefulness leading up to and during a visit to the museum, I also see this as a wonderful digital souvenir for those who have visited. And a superb tool for teachers when taking a school trip to the AMNH.
I visited the American Natural Museum when I was a youngster and it is one of my most happy and powerful childhood memories. If an app like this had been around then I just know the experience would have been even richer. Great idea, great execution, great job by Bloomberg in sponsoring it.
