Yes, actually, but I believe there are so many updates that it quickly becomes far too tedious to write that, and for readers to read that.

So here\’s what I do instead: I provide a very clear link to the review. I say \”review here\” right beside the \”ColorBlast!\” iTunes link. The review for ColorBlast! should tell you what it\’s about in the into paragraph.

It\’s still not a perfect system, but with multiple app updates coming out every single week, this cuts down on the repeat text that regular readers have to read, while still allowing newer readers to understand what it is I\’m talking about. It also helps the writing from becoming too dry and textbook, which is all too easy a trap to fall into when you\’re posting almost every day.

Hope that helps

Duly noted. Still looking for the happy medium.

Good point, Thomas — well-taken. I should have clicked the "review here" link…and I do realize there's a flood of app updates out there. I guess I go back to something they taught us in j-school — the first time you refer to something in a story, you spell it out (i.e., "according to the American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP).."), then you could use the abbreviation later. In an app-update story, you might just steal a few words from the earlier review telling what it is ("Toodledo, an awesome to-do/task management app we reviewed a few weeks ago"). I don't want to split hairs, because I realize you're overflowing with juicy new stuff and don't want to be tedious. I'm sure there is a happy medium here — thanks for acknowledging that it's worth pursuing! 🙂

Like, "ColorBlast is a program that does __________ and this is the first new version in _______ months adding the following features that users have been missing…"

In other words, I don't have a clue about ColorBlast, and many of your blog posts ASSUME that we've been using the app all along.
