The iOS 4.0.2 update (to the iPhone operating system) is out and available via iTunes. As you can see in the screencap above, this update patches the major security vulnerability related to viewing PDF files, that allowed for (potentially) malicious code to run on the iPhone.
This is the same vulnerability used by the lastest jailbreak via the jailbreakme.com site, so presumably anyone who updates will no longer be able to use that jailbreak. The Dev Team has already tweeted advising against applying the update:
I ‘m glad to see Apple patched this vulnerability fairly quickly, and I expect we won ‘t have to wait too long for a new jailbreak to emerge.
