Tlert 4.2.2 for iPhone: iOS 4 compatibility, new icon, new features [Jailbreak]

notice the snazzy new Springboard icon?

Tlert, Intelliborn’s jailbreak texting app, has been updated to work on iOS 4. This actually happened a little while back, but I was on a a sorta-public beta version of the app, and simply didn’t notice that it had gone live. Oops.

Unlike MyWi 4.0, Tlert (and its e-mail brother, Elert) have been updated to work on iOS 4 for free. Unlike Elert, however, Tlert has a few new tricks up its sleeve:

A threaded view of all of your previous messages with a contact can now be seen by tapping on the arrow next to incoming texts. This is something I had hoped for when I reviewed the app last November, and it’s good to see the feature has been included so seamlessly.

The app now supports MMS, and you can even  map an Activator gesture to Tlert’s new “Quick Compose” screen, which works just like the one from the default Messaging.app, except for the fact that it loads right over your current application (just like SBSettings does).

All in all, the whole package works quite nicely. I’d be playing with it more, if I weren’t so busy testing the rapid-fire updates for Notified Pro.

You can download this update for free from the Rock app, provided you bought a previous version of the app. Otherwise, it’ll cost you $6.99 for a new license.
