I could call Calvetica ($2.99) the Swiss Army Knife of calendar apps, but that would probably be misleading. I just think the logo and design remind me a lot of designs from Victorinox. However, a more reasonable comparison would be to look at Calvetica as a more efficient re-imagining of the Calendar app, just as the Helvetireader theme is a streamlined take on Google Reader.
I’ve got my hands on a review copy of the app, and it’s seriously nifty. There are plenty of animations and little touches to make even scheduling a dentist appointment interesting. I’m amazed at how usable the whole package is, considering this is the initial release. If you’d like a peek at the app, I’d recommend a quick visit to the official website.
Look for the review on the sooner side of time in this space that is our website (huh?).
