Canned for iPhone: easy texting templates

Just because something is canned, doesn’t mean it’s Spam. You can can plenty of other things, too, like tomatoes or text messages. If you don’t have the time to dice tomatoes, get canned tomatoes. If you don’t have time to write texts on your touchscreen device, get Canned for iPhone ($0.99).

All you need to do is write out your canned texts once, select the possible recipients for the text (ex. Thomas -> Patrick “Where’s the home button again?”), and you’re all set. The next time you need to respond with some sort of template, launch Canned, tap on the relevant pre-written text, and then send.

This app has been making waves amongst the folks I follow on Twitter (Minimal Mac, Shawn Blanc), so it seems to be doing something right.
