Apple Will Live Stream Tomorrow’s Special Event

AppleLiveEventStreaming

Apple has announced that they will be live streaming their special event tomorrow (September 1) at apple.com.  The event is set to start at 10AM PDT, 1:00PM Eastern.

Apple® will broadcast its September 1 event online using Apple’s industry-leading HTTP Live Streaming, which is based on open standards. Viewing requires either a Mac® running Safari® on Mac OS® X version 10.6 Snow Leopard®, an iPhone® or iPod touch® running iOS 3.0 or higher, or an iPad™. The live broadcast will begin at 10:00 a.m. PDT on September 1, 2010 at www.apple.com.

The general consensus on rumors I’ve seen seems to be that iTV (a rebranding of Apple TV) will be the lead item, with perhaps iTunes in the cloud or something similar a major focus as well.  News on the next generation iPod Touch is expected as well.  Maybe we’ll get some news on iOS updates or some little tidbits on the iPhone.

In any case it should be fun to get to watch live tomorrow.  I think it’s great that we should be able to tune in on an iPhone or iPad as well.  I may follow one of the major tech site liveblogs (usually gdgt.com) on my laptop, and watch the live stream on my iPad.

Anyone want to share any last-minute predictions on what gets announced tomorrow?
