It just wouldn’t be an Apple event without a little boasting about the latest crazy numbers indicating the astounding success of the iOS platform and the App Store. Here are a few that stood out today:
— 6.5 billion apps downloaded total from the App Store – 200 per second!
— 120 million iOS devices shipped
— 230,000 new iOS activations per day – not counting updates.
I don’t know Mac numbers ” someone please chime in in the comments if you do ” but I have to imagine that iOS devices already far outnumber Macs or soon will. It certainly feels more and more as if this is the platform that will be generating the bulk of Apple’s revenue and success for years to come.
